Can I edit the text once it's in PowerPoint?
No. Every slide holds a picture of the page, so the text can't be clicked into or restyled. Add your own text boxes over the top, or convert the PDF to Word first if you need the words back as text.
What shape will the slides be?
The deck is sized from the first page, so a portrait document gives portrait slides and a landscape one gives wide slides. Nothing is letterboxed or cropped to fit a standard frame.
